…Sorry, so what exactly is Making Tax Digital?
Unless you’ve got no access to the radio, TV or newspapers we may be flogging a dead horse, but from Monday 1st April 2019 nearly every business across the United Kingdom will need to be compliant with Making Tax Digital.
If you have a VAT registered business with revenue over the VAT registration threshold of £85,000 then you must:
- Keep all your tax records digitally
- Send the VAT return to HMRC using Making Tax Digital compatible software
The great news for you, is that HMRC have officially recognised Dynamics 街霸5 Business Central and 街霸5 as software products that will support Making Tax Digital.

Is your software compatible with Making Tax Digital?
In December, Microsoft released the cumulative updates for 街霸5 2015 onwards that all feature ‘Making tax digital in the British version’ and several core object changes.
We would urge you not to install any hotfixes or updates until we have verified that your environment is compatible. Otherwise, a random hotfix or update could create inoperability issues with the customisations or third-party products that work alongside your 街霸5 or Business Central system which will cost you valuable time.
If you’re on an older version than 街霸5 2015, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we can sort out a manual workaround or upgrade. With a current maintenance agreement for 街霸5 or Dynamics 街霸5 Business Central, you are entitled to the cumulative update however there may be a cost involved.
